Description

Harris 4043 is a premium 5% silicon aluminum TIG (GTAW) rod designed for welding heat-treatable 6XXX series base alloys (like 6061/6063) and aluminum-silicon castings. The added silicon content increases puddle fluidity, improves bead appearance, and reduces sensitivity to weld cracking compared to 5XXX fillers. These all-position, 1/8" x 36" rods provide a smooth, gray (post anodized) finish and are especially effective for automotive repairs, trailer work, bike frames, and general aluminum fabrication. Typical mechanical properties include a melting range of 1065°F–1170°F and tensile strength of approximately 27,000 psi. Each 1 lb tube contains about 10–15 rods, marked for quick identification after use.
